INTRODUCING A NEW FROZEN YOGURT SUNDAE
THAT HAS A PROMISING FUTURE WHERE THE SKY IS THE LIMIT

TCBY Announces The Winner of Its Sundae College Contest. The Frozen Treat
Will Be Sold In Participating Stores With Proceeds Going To Her College Education.

Some kids get a chance to go to college because they’re great athletes. Others get a free ride because of good grades. But for 14-year-old Charlotte Kramer, from Kingsport, TN, it was her ability to create a frozen yogurt sundae that will help pay for her college tuition.

TCBY’s Sundae College Contest asked kids across the country to create a frozen yogurt sundae using TCBY frozen yogurts and toppings, and to give their creation a name. Chosen from more than 5,000 entrants, the winning treat, Charlotte’s Frozen Hot Chocolate, is made with chocolate frozen yogurt, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and topped with marshmallows. From August 15 through September 15, the Frozen Hot Chocolate sundae will be available in participating TCBY stores across the country. For her winning entry, TCBY will present Charlotte with a $5,000 scholarship; plus a percentage of the sales of her sundae creation will go towards her college education as well.

“TCBY’s frozen yogurt tastes great, is good for you and now has a new found attribute…educational,” said Paul Kershisnik, director of marketing for TCBY. “Whoever thought that a frozen yogurt sundae would help a child go to college? We are incredibly excited to be part of and contribute to Charlotte’s future education.”

Based in Salt Lake City, UT today, TCBY has been a frozen treats product innovator from the day its first shop opened in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1981. The great-tasting, low-fat frozen yogurt concept received an enthusiastic response from an increasingly health-conscious public. With more than 1,200 stores across the country and product offerings that include drinks, sundaes and cakes, TCBY has continually been a healthy alternative for consumers looking for a treat, lunch or snack.
