MOTTO MAGAZINE OFFERS 50 GREAT WORK-LIFE TIPS FROM 10 OF AMERICA'S TOP COACHES. Current Issue of National Magazine
of 'Work with Purpose, Passion and Profit'
Is a Virtual How-to on Living a Better, More Fulfilling Career

June 4, 2007-- Motto magazine's current issue is packed with advice from 10 of the nation's smartest work-life coaches, whose clients run the gamut from Microsoft, Merrill Lynch, The Gap and American Express to non-profits and universities. Motto asked each coach for a few good "quick tips"--as well as their personal mottos. Here's a sampling of 'golden nuggets' they shared:

* Rick Tamlyn on how to play a "bigger game" with your life. "The first question is, what is the game in life you really want to be playing?" There is a boldness to naming it and once it is named you will begin to attract the perfect co-players and support – guaranteed.
* Marshall Goldsmith on how to avoid "destructive smart-person behavior," in which well-meaning bright people offer thoughts on others" ideas because "they must add value." But the strategy is crippling to the commitment of the idea creator because he or she loses ownership.
* Andrea J. Lee on why your business is a reflection of who you are inside. "To the extent you are willing to grow yourself, your business will grow."
* Former Manpower CEO Lance Secretan on how to find and work with a coach most effectively. His advice: Be bold. "Burning the box is often as effective as thinking outside of it."
* Andre Taylor on how anyone can use his or her seven natural instincts to build an entrepreneurial life: survival, comfort, territory, defense, hunting, building and love.
* Dan Lier on how to build a belief system that values you at $250,000 instead of $100,000.

In every issue, Motto magazine--founded by Kevin Salwen and Anita Sharpe, both formerly of the Wall Street Journal--starts with the premise that every individual and company can achieve fulfilling work and a more socially responsible route to business success. As the voice of capitalism with a soul, Motto features fresh and unique reports and stories that show purpose, passion and profit are not mutually exclusive ideals.

Among the other stories in this current issue:

* Rituals for a Better Life – Motto surveys dozens of professionals to see how they add more joy and productivity to their work lives. Many choose rituals that focus on the first moments of the day, from finding a spot to watch the sun rise to a "shin-tae-do" salute to the four directions of the compass to walking the dog. Topping the list: Enjoying a cup of coffee.
* The Unlikely Mogul – A look at how Mark Claypool, founder of Educational Services of America, has created an $80 million a year company on the principle that no child is unteachable, even those with autism or behavioral problems.
* Aveda Founder Horst Rechelbacher offers up his rules for building a sustainable business. Among them:
o Ask ourselves: How can we serve, nurture and sustain the planet and its people in our business ventures?
o Make a business opportunity of the environmental crisis by designing innovative, sustainable products.
o Reinvent ourselves daily.
o Clone ourselves through teaching others.
o Vote wisely through what we buy.
