Juice Energy joins The Climate Registry
as one of North America’s Founding Reporters

Juice Energy has become a Founding Reporter of The Climate Registry – a voluntary non-profit partnership for greenhouse gas reporting and verification. With the goal of creating a unified accounting methodology for companies to track greenhouse gas emissions, The Climate Registry is a natural fit for a company whose business is helping clients measure and manage their own carbon footprints.

The Climate Registry is the first organization formed specifically to create a standardized methodology for the calculation, verification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions. The development of a consistent and transparent system is invaluable as businesses and governments work to manage their greenhouse gas emissions. To date, The Registry has been endorsed by 39 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, 9 Canadian provinces, 6 Mexican states, and 3 Native American tribes.

“The accurate accounting and public reporting of greenhouse gas emissions are critical steps in addressing the challenge of climate change,” said Timothy Treadwell, Environmental Director at Juice. “The Climate Registry’s protocols and reporting platform provide a consistent way for organizations to do just that and we are proud to be a Founding Reporter.”

Juice is a New York–based electricity supplier that combines advanced electricity purchasing strategies with greenhouse gas management services. Juice believes that managing electricity risk is similar to managing other complex financial risks, and the firm works with its clients to pick the best strategies and then execute them in the market when conditions are most favorable. Juice also constantly monitors the energy markets to protect its clients from the wild fluctuations in the price of electricity. The company’s methods help make the purchase of energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, a viable and affordable option for businesses of every size.

In addition to its electricity supply services, Juice is using The Registry’s General Reporting Protocol to help clients track their greenhouse gas emissions. “We want clients to understand the impacts associated with their operations and the options available to reduce them. By conducting an emissions inventory, we are able to demonstrate the benefits of greenhouse gas management options such as renewable energy purchasing,” said Treadwell.
