For Immediate Release

THIS AUGUST AT H&M,
A BOOK TAKES ON A WHOLE NEW MEANING

For kids this back-to-school season, a book represents something much different…a new outfit. Just in time for the start of the new school year, H&M, Europe’s leading fashion retailer, will be giving both kids and their books a fresh look for the first day of school with the “Book For A New Look” program.

On Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 during store hours, kids ages 5 to 14 (accompanied by a parent or guardian) are invited to donate gently used children’s books - perhaps from their summer reading list - to their local participating H&M store. In return for their donation, they will receive a coupon for 20% off an entire outfit from the children’s department for their first day of school. (Please note, one coupon per customer.) Plus, all kids who visit the store will receive H&M book covers and have to opportunity to decorate them while mom and dad are shopping. All books collected will be donated to a local school in need selected by the participating H&M store.

“What better way to get kids into the swing of being back to school than by getting them involved in a program that encourages reading,” said Karen Belva, public relations manager, H&M. “We love the idea of kids helping kids through this program, and H&M helping parents by making back to school shopping easier with great quality fashions at the best price.”

H&M’s fall/back to school collection offers the season’s hippest, high-quality trends as well as modern classics at prices every parent will love. The new collection for boys and girls features colorful prints, sporty styles, denim, corduroy cardigans and parkas, which combine form, function, and fashion.
