CELESTIAL SEASONINGS® PROUDLY INTRODUCES
“TEA FOR AMERICA™” WITH 100% OF THE PROFITS GOING TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS

Boulder, CO, February 20, 2002 - Many people turn to a cup of tea when they are stressed, need time to reflect, or just want to relax. Now tea will be doing more than providing a source of soothing comfort and warm contentment. Celestial Seasonings (www.celestialseasonings.com), the largest specialty tea manufacturer in North America, is offering a new product called “Tea for America” for a limited time, and donating 100% of the profits to the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) in support of their extraordinary relief work.

“It seemed to be a natural fit for Celestial Seasonings to create a product that helps raise money for the American Red Cross,” explained Mo Siegel, founder of Celestial Seasonings and Vice Chairman of The Hain Celestial Group. “The Red Cross provides aid to countless people nationwide on an ongoing basis, so giving 100% of Tea for America’s profits is our way of helping.”

Tea for America is an all-natural, smooth tasting blend of carefully selected black tea leaves, similar to those our forefathers tossed into the Boston Harbor in 1773. Just as tea in the 1700’s symbolized American determination for freedom and liberty, Celestial Seasonings’ Tea for America was created to support American unity, resolve and compassion. After harvesting the top few tender leaves from the tea bush, the leaves are fermented and dried — creating a delicious, smooth, easy-drinking tea.

The unique “Americana”-style packaging of Tea for America is brought to life through inspiring, patriotic quotes from well-known American historical figures including Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Frances E. W. Harper. Package illustrations were created by nationally renowned folk artist Warren Kimble. The package design features visual images that are reminiscent of America's more tranquil past while clearly conveying warmth and history.

Tea for America can be ordered by calling 800-525-0347 and will be available in select stores nationwide starting in mid-January 2002. The Tea for America box contains 60 tea bags and retails for $2.99 (MSRT).
