For Immediate Release It's The Fourth Quarter And Your Team Is Way Behind. Unfortunately, This Isn't Just A Game... New Program Helps Failing Dot-Com's Get Back On Their Feet In The Financial Fourth Quarter The drop in the NASDAQ laid your Internet gameplan to waste, and it's been difficult to make halftime adjustments. Your venture capital contacts have gone into a prevent defense. And now you're avoiding the rush of creditors in the hope of preventing a sack for a big Chapter 11 loss. In the face of daily announcements about Internet companies closing shop, FindWhat.com (NASDAQ:FWHT), a search engine providing performance-based advertising services for the Internet, has announced a program called Two-Minute Warning. Through the Two-Minute Warning program, FindWhat.com will waive the fees failing Web sites would otherwise have to pay as an advertiser on FindWhat.com's search engine. This program will be offered starting October 1 and run through December 31, 2000. "In a lot of ways the Internet business, and any business for that matter, is like football. You need a solid gameplan, the ability to adjust to the competition as well as the ability to adjust to game conditions," said Courtney Jones, co-founder and chairman of FindWhat.com. "We have created this program because we understand the realities of today's marketplace. We've helped our clients reach millions of people in a very cost-efficient way, so we feel confident that this program can help get Internet companies back on their feet." Companies who sign up with FindWhat.com bid on search words or phrases to be positioned at or near the top of a particular search, paying only when a customer clicks through to their Web site. Through the Two-Minute Warning program, qualifying Web sites will not be charged for clickthrough rates to their site. To qualify, Web sites must show they are in dire need of help by demonstrating the following: less than $1 million cash on the balance sheet and still burning cash, one or more public announcements of lay-offs (or other drastic measures) to conserve funds, and have not raised funds since their last public announcement. For further information on how to qualify or to sign up for the program, contact FindWhat.com CFO Phillip Thune at 212-255-1500. According to Forrester Research, performance-based advertising will represent more than 50% of the estimated $18 billion dollars spent on advertising on the web by 2003. FindWhat's goal is to help Internet companies realize the power and benefit of performance-based advertising. Through this program, FindWhat.com is making it easy to get back in the game before it's too late. Courtney Jones is available for interview. |
