Jericho Communications Transforms Its Offices Into a Spa For the Day
to Say Thank You to Its Employees

NEW YORK, December 8, 2003 — It’s one thing to have an office party at a bar and watch that quiet and reserved senior partner get embarrassingly drunk. It is completely another thing to have your employees walking around the office in bathrobes and wet red nail polish on their toes. On Friday, December 12, Jericho Communications, a full service public relations agency in SoHo, is turning its offices into a spa for the day to say thanks to their employees for a year of hard work.

When employees at Jericho Communications sit down at their desks on the morning of Friday, December 12 they will be greeted with a “Jericho Spa Welcome Packet.” The special packet includes a plush bathrobe with a Jericho Spa Day invitation and a list of “Just Relax” activities for everyone to enjoy such as, manicures, facials, massages, spiritual readings and henna tattoos. A sign-up sheet will be at various places around the offices where employees can schedule their spa treatments during the afternoon. The office will officially close at noon, when employees can kick up their feet, relax, sip on a glass of Chardonnay and enjoy a served gourmet spa brunch.

“PR is a stressful business,” explained Eric Yaverbaum, president and founder of Jericho Communications. “We wanted to give everyone one day to just say ‘Ah’ and rejuvenate for the coming year.” Michelle Frankfort, senior vice president added, “Everyone in the office is accustom to the hustle and bustle pace of planning special events on behalf of our clients. This unique “thank you” event planned especially for our employees will be a fun switch for all of us.”

Jericho Communications has always looked at innovative ways to continually build its unique corporate culture and employee satisfaction. Every summer, Jericho has a camping trip where they pitch tents, canoe down the Delaware River and spend the night in the wilderness. Prior to that, Jericho chartered a fishing boat and spent the day on the high seas. “Creating trips, outings and events that are beyond the traditional standard gatherings is a great way to make a place special,” explained Ian Madover, creative director at Jericho. “Just as we look at our business in a way to do things differently, why shouldn’t what we do in the office be the same?”

Jericho Communications, Inc., a full service public relations agency, has been developing strategic and creative public relations solutions for a wide-array of consumer and business-to-business clients for the past twenty years. Current clients include IKEA Home Furnishings, H&M, Lugz, DiMassimo Advertising and Progressive Insurance.
