ENTITLE INSURANCE COMPANY CREATES PROGRAM THAT
BENEFITS FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS
Consumers to Save an Additional $100 in Closing Fees
STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT (March 18, 2009) – Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, qualifying first-time homebuyers will receive up to an $8,000 tax credit this year, which will aid in the recovery of the U.S. economy.
In support of the federal government’s actions, EnTitle Insurance Company, the leading provider of title insurance and closing services sold directly to consumers, has created the You’re Entitled program. This program will offer first-time homebuyers an extra $100 in savings on their closing fees, in addition to the 35% savings on title insurance already offered through ENTITLE DIRECT (www.EntitleDirect.com).
“We hope to assist in the housing recovery by lowering closing costs for all Americans,” states Timothy Dwyer, President and CEO of Entitle Direct Group. “ENTITLE DIRECT recognizes that both private and public enterprises must jointly contribute to restarting America’s housing market.”
EnTitle Insurance Company launched its direct-to-consumer online distribution channel—ENTITLE DIRECT—in late 2008. Currently licensed in 32 states, ENTITLE DIRECT has significantly lowered closing costs for homebuyers, sellers, and refinancers by offering policies at significantly lower premiums than those of the competition.
Closing costs are often a significant impediment for first-time buyers, as these costs typically are paid in cash at closing. Lowering a buyer’s out-of-pocket closing costs, in conjunction with favorable interest rates and tax incentives, can help prompt renters to purchase a home for the first time. For example, an eligible first-time homebuyer in San Francisco, California, financing $450,000 on a $500,000 home, would save over $700 in closing costs by taking advantage of ENTITLE DIRECT’s low title insurance rates and the extra $100 discount.
Dwyer adds, “This can add up to very significant savings for a first-time buyer. We understand that homebuyers are being squeezed, and we want to offer some relief by helping consumers as much as possible in these economic times.”
To take advantage of the savings, first-time buyers should contact ENTITLE DIRECT and should also let their real estate professional, attorney, or lender know about the program. To assist in the economic recovery, ENTITLE DIRECT’s You’re Entitled program goes beyond several of the limitations of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. For example, in the You’re Entitled program, there is no gross income phase-out or required three-year commitment to stay in the home, which means more Americans will be eligible to save $100 on their ENTITLE DIRECT closing fees, as well as 35% on their title insurance.
