For information, contact: Maryann Palumbo Dr. Fad Searching for New Kid’s (and big Kid’s) Inventions It is a crazy and scary world out there that is hard to understand. If you think it’s tough for adults, imagine what it’s like for young children, whose young lives, which are supposed to be filled with fun and wonderment, are being interrupted with scary images coming from everywhere from their television to their computer. “Child’s play is perhaps more important to kids peace of mind and development now than ever before,” says Ken Hakuta (a.k.a Dr. Fad) world renowned toy expert and former host of CBS-TV’S kids television series “The Dr. Fad Show.” Dr. Fad is traveling the country with a simple message, “Bring fun back to kids.” He is again on the search for kids fun inventions and will be demonstrating old fads as well as possible new fads. Dr. Fad believes that all kids can be creative. And all kids have ideas for new inventions. Dr. Fad wants to see those and inventions and even help would-be inventors get their inventions realized. “Kids need an eclectic array of play choices. Some of it should be educational, some of it should help start to build some life path, some of it should foster creativity, but a lot of it should be childish, meaningless stuff, that allows a child to be a child,” explains the good doctor of kids fun. “It’s sort of like teaching good eating habits. Children should eat healthy, but being a kid also means having an ice cream cone once in awhile.” Dr. Fad first rose to national prominence by introducing the Wacky WallWalker, the little rubber octopus that walked down walls, which quickly became one of the most successful independent toys ever sold in this country. Now Dr. Fad is ready to help the next inventor make their discovery become a reality. For more advice from Dr. Fad, visit his website at drfad.com. |
