FASTEST PIZZA MAKER 2005…
ALL IN ONE MINUTE 45 SECONDS AND THREE PIZZAS

Domino’s Pizza Team Washington’s Fastest Hands Toss Pies for a Worthy Cause

WASHINGTON, DC (March 7, 2005) – One minute and forty-five seconds is not enough time to run a mile, to eat fifty eggs, or even to preheat your oven! But for the most adept Domino’s Pizza Team Washington team members, it is the amount of time it takes to make three pizzas.

On Tuesday, March 15th, twelve participants from Team Washington’s 59 locations will compete against one another to be named The Fastest Pizza Maker 2005. Qualifying in under one minute and forty-five seconds, participants will compete to make three fourteen inch pies with a variety of toppings: pepperoni, mushroom, and – the old standby – plain cheese, as quickly as possible while maintaining perfect crusts and portions. Customers are welcome to attend the events and cheer on the competition at Domino’s Pizza stores located at 6228 Richmond Highway at 2:00 p.m. and 5960 Kingstowne Town Center at 3:00 p.m.

The products of Team Washington’s competition – the sellable, albeit speedily made pies – will be donated to Carpenter’s Shelter, a local organization that provides services to the homeless such as food, shelter, transitional housing and career counseling.

“Making quality pizzas quickly is a very important part of Domino’s reputation,” said David Carraway, President of Domino’s Pizza Team Washington. “The Fastest Pizza Maker 2005 competition offers us a great opportunity to not only crown the fastest pizza maker in this area, but also to demonstrate both the internal efficiency and speed in the store, which of course is very important to us so the drivers have more than enough time to safely deliver pizza to our customers. And best of all, we get to give back to our community.”

The Fastest Pizza Maker 2005 will advance to the regional competition and have the opportunity to participate in the global competition at the World Wide rally in Orlando, FL (June 2005) for the title of Domino’s Pizza’s World’s Fastest Pizza Maker 2005 and prizes possibly totaling $12,600.
