TODAY COSMETICS, LIKE BEAUTY, GOES SO FAR BEYOND SKIN DEEP, IT TOUCHES THE HEART AND SOUL
How today’s cosmetics can affect your “emotional makeup” as much as it does your beauty

Even Christie Cohen is amazed at how far cosmetics have advanced. Cosmetics have become so much more than they once were, much more than just colors, shades, and skin tones. It now includes expertise in behavior, herbs, sociology, nutrition, and the study of how all these factors affect health and mindset, mood, even energy and motivation.

This is what the world of cosmetics has become. Christie’s job, her career, her life, has been dedicated to getting under women’s skin, teaching them how advancements in cosmetics allow beauty products to enhance a woman’s look and self image on the outside, and, perhaps even more importantly, how it can have its greatest effect on one’s inner self, or, as Christie likes to call it, her “emotional makeup.” Today it is possible to create a look that matches almost any situation and emotional need, whether you’re looking for stress relief, relaxation, confidence, or rejuvenation.

“It starts with a greater array of products,” explains Cohen, CEO of Aloette Cosmetics. “There is such a wide pallet of products now available that we can not only personalize a look to each individual, but we can also tailor a look for each aspect of their lives, so they’re always feeling that they look the best for each situation. But it also includes the benefits that can be derived from nutrients and herbal ingredients in cosmetic products today, and the smells and sensuous qualities that have been researched to show their emotional effects.”

But with the rise of product innovation comes an increase in knowledge in how to use them effectively.

“Cosmetics can do so much more than they used to, if you know how to use them,” says Cohen. “But if you don’t know how to take advantage of what is available, you won’t get the benefit, which in this case can be life changing.”

Christie has spoken to hundreds of thousands of women about how to affect their “emotional makeup” through cosmetics. She can demonstrate how cosmetics today:

Are Far More Personalized:
Lets face it, women feel better when they look good. But women have many roles, and looking good in each role is often defined quite differently. An array of product allows women to create the look that accentuates all their positives, while minimizing their negatives.

Can Relax You:
There are shades, aromas, and feels (textures?) that can be used in times of tension to create an active relaxation force.

Can Build Energy:
There are cosmetic choices out there that build internal energy, and not just the energy a woman gets from looking great. Color choices and textures can get you pumping through the Monday morning blues.

Can Instill Confidence:
There are certain facial areas to highlight, while there are other to downplay, that gives you a look of confidence, a look that others can pick-up on and that you can pick up on by simply looking in the mirror.

Can Restore Balance:
For woman with multi-tiered lives, achieving balance is not only an asset, but a necessity for survival. In such situations, some of the herbal additive products can be a great help. For instance, lip colors with green tea can promote a sense of balance while makeup infused with vitamins and aloe help to promote tranquility.

Can Help Fit Your Life:
Being able not only to look good, but to look good for the right event, whether that event is a kid’s soccer game, parent/teacher conference, work, or a night out. Today your look can easily be tailored for your daily schedule.
